Reclaimed wood is a very eco-friendly choice for furniture and can come from a range of places that are NOT used in the sourcing of the barnwood for this server including sawmill discards, old pallets, small pieces of wood discards glued together, old doors and barrels. Only the finest quality genuine reclaimed lumber from actual barns that have been felled and carefully taken apart and properly dried and cut for furniture use are used in the making of this dining server.

All wood used on this barnwood server is 100% reclaimed solid oak barnwood from felled barns sourced throughout the Northeastern United States.
All reclaimed barnwood is thoroughly cleaned and dried prior to cutting. In addition, any embedded nails are removed.
A kiln drying process exterminates any insects which may have lingered. This critical drying process also lessens the moisture content to 6-8% which is essential in furniture making to minimize shrinking, cracking and warping in the server throughout its lifetime.
A low-sheen, catalyzed conversion varnish is used on this barnwood server. This protective varnish resists scratches, water stains and heat damage. It is also ultra easy to clean.
